 Our Juror - Cecile Baird

Cecile Baird received her art education at The Ohio State University where she received BFA and MA degrees in Graphic Design.   After working several  years as a designer in St. Louis and Los Angeles  Ms. Baird returned to her  home state of Ohio and opened her own business designing and selling a line  of figurines and note cards to gift shops all over the country.

While this business is ongoing today, Cecile has turned her talents to painting. Working primarily in Colored Pencil and Oil, she has developed a realistic style that captures the drama, beauty and simplicity of everyday objects in her still life paintings.  With their strong sense of composition and lighting, Cecile’s paintings always draw the viewer back again and again.

Cecile is a signature member of the Colored Pencil Society of America.  Her Colored Pencil and Oil paintings have received numerous regional, national and international awards.  Cecile’s work has been published in The Artist’s Magazine, International Artist and North Light.  American Artist magazine will publish an article on Cecile in the April 2003 issue.  Prints of several paintings are now available through Applejack Art Partners of Manchester Center, VT.
