Rochester, NY - March 17 - 19, 2011 Portraits in Colored Pencil I: Discover invaluable secrets in creating incredible lifelike portraits. With unintimidating step-by-step exercises and guidance, Ann Kullberg, author of the popular “Colored Pencil Portraits Step by Step”, will give hands-on lessons in using color, light, and glazing techniques to bring richness, depth and drama to your colored pencil portraits Learn valuable techniques to build flesh tones, render hair and individual facial features, create a background to support your subject, and capture a likeness while achieving a painterly quality. Ann will also lend helpful advice on the “business side” of portraiture---contracts, commissions, finding clients, and fees and the Internet will be discussed. $255 Supply List Sharpened set of 48 or larger set, Sanford Prismacolor pencils (or equivalent) In addition, one each Prismacolor of the following: Mineral Orange, Deco Pink, Pumpkin Orange, Henna, Pink Rose, Rosy Beige, Clay Rose, Jasmine, 30% French Grey (You can substitute the following for the now discontinued Deco Pink if you don't have one - Derwent Coloursoft Rose-Pink) Drafting brush (desk brush or large paint brush) Two sheets Rising Stonehenge paper, cut to roughly 8" x 10" One 8 x 10 sheet tracing paper or mylar film Pencil sharpener - electric recommended (bring an extension cord if you have one handy)
